A 110 year old Baldwin grand piano was meticulously transformed and given a new life as a bookcase. A family heirloom that stays true to it’s past and a center piece of a family home once again.
The original top becomes the back of the bookcase. Shelving was added using African Mahogany and finished using Rubio Monocoat.
The maple frame still has signs of where the sound board was attached over 100 years ago. The craftsmanship that went into these old pianos back then is amazing.
Original brass hinges were polished and reattached.
The keyslip was used for decorative trim around the shelving.
An original Baldwin brass emblem was reused and inlayed into the faceframe.
The original legs were cut down and attached along with the original brass endcaps.
